1) What Is SEP?
SEP is the Special Enrollment Period for health insurance that allows you to enroll outside of the Open Enrollment Period.
2) How Do You Qualify for SEP?
Certain life events allow you to qualify for the Special Enrollment Period. These events include losing health coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or adopting a child.
3) How Long Do I Have to Qualify?
You may have the option to enroll 60 days before or 60 days after the life event, depending on what life event applies to you. Job-based plans must provide a Special Enrollment Period of at least 30 days.
