1) Join a Medicare Advantage Plan
You can join a Medicare Advantage Plan during your Initial Enrollment Period, the Open Enrollment Period, or the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period. You may also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period that allows you to join.
2) Switch Your Medicare Advantage Plan
You can switch your Medicare Advantage Plan by enrolling in a new plan during any of the open enrollment periods. Once you've enrolled in a new plan, you'll automatically be disenrolled from your old plan when your new plan begins.

3) Drop Your Medicare Advantage Plan
You can choose to disenroll from your Medicare Advantage Plan and switch to Original Medicare during the open enrollment periods. To do this, you'll want to meet with your licensed insurance agent or visit your local Social Security Office to process your disenrollment form.
